The purpose of this website is to share helpful travel information that I learned over the years. When I was growing up my family didn't travel much and we never took a plane trip. When I went into the service at 18, it meant my first plane trip was alone. I took one flight to basic training and another flight from tech school to my parents home for leave. My third plane trip was an overseas trip to Japan. Since I had no earlier guidance, I did a lot of things in my early travels that I wouldn't do now. I still remember a middle aged guy on the same flight to Japan that started talking to me. He was a seasoned traveler and I guess he could tell I was nervous so I think he was just being a good guy giving me some moral support. In a way I'm paying it forward with this site and I keep my earlier self in mind when creating the content.

Contact Information

To contact me, my email address is:
making spammers job harder
To send an email you will need to type the address into your email program. I'm not giving a clickable link here because doing that would allow spammers to easily get my email by using a bot. I hate spam just as much as you.

Amazon Disclosure

TravelHintsAndTips.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Basically this means if you click a link that goes to Amazon and you go on to make a purchase, I get a small commission but the price you pay is no different. That being said, I almost always only give links to items that I have used and would purchase again. Rarely I recommend something that I didn't personally use but I will disclose that if that's the case. An example of this would be the noise canceling headphones. The pair I have are over 10 years old and are discontinued so I recommend the replacement pair. Another example would be when a link brings you to a list of items such as USB batteries. In that case you would want to select the size, shape and capacity that you prefer.

Privacy Policy

My privacy policy is simple. I won't disclose your information to anyone, unless required by law. I don't see how that could ever happen but I figured I'd put it in there just in case.
